BEST at the IUCN World Conservation Congress

The first hybrid in-person and virtual environmental event since the pandemic began, the IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) will drive action on nature-based recovery, climate change and biodiversity post-2020. The WCC will be held between 3-11 September in Marseille, France. The official programme can be found here

BEST – voluntary scheme for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Territories of European Overseas – is a European initiative that aims to support the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of ecosystem services, including ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation and mitigation, in the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) and in the EU Outermost Regions (ORs). Join us to know more about the unique EU Overseas’ biodiversity, the numerous BEST projects and our partners!


The “BEST and beyond” stand (L26) and the project team will provide you an unique opportunity to learn more about the EU BEST initiative and how it has been unlocking the potential of many initiatives on the ground. The numerous and highly diverse BEST projects will enable you to discover more about the unique EU Overseas’ biodiversity, the challenges and the actions undertaken by local organisations.
