BEST-PANORAMA Webinar: “Dialogue on Marine Solutions in the Pacific”

A first BEST-PANORAMA Webinar “Dialogue on Marine Solutions in the Pacific” took place on Thursday 25 June 2020 as part of IUCN Journey to Marseille and the World Conservation Congress in January 2021.

Thanks a lot to those who joined this online event! For those who could not make it or would like to watch it again, both the recording and the presentations are available online.

This webinar focused on bottom up inclusive approaches such as Educational Managed Marine Area (EMMA) and Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA), which aim to enable and empower local communities in marine conservation and resource management. The Global Island Partnership together with EMMA and LMMA practitioners from the Pacific (the LMMA network, FAPE – Te Ora Naho, and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of French Polynesia) presented their solutions, shared good practices and challenges. This led to an engaging discussion on how they could learn from each other and potentially replicate their solutions.
